Well Saturday's performance certainly created a couple of worthwhile comparisons production versus hype.

Production - Nkosi Perry. I'll admit I've been awfully harsh on him and heading into the season I did not think he was the answer but with just three quarters of work my opinion has changed dramatically. I'm happy to eat some crow there. After throwing for over four hundred yards and four TDS in little over three-quarters of play he immediately brought back the downfield threat which opened up the offense and allowed to some of our playmakers to thrive. Maybe a little too much of a gunslinger but at the end of the day a 30 or 40 yard interception is about the same as a three-and-out and a punt...so I can live with a few ints if it returns the big play capability.

Hype - Williams and his statline pre VT. It took all of one quarter to make it painfully obvious his flaws. 70% completion percentage means nothing if none of those completions are over 10 yards... And at the end of the day the number one stat that matters is points per game and he is not putting up points.

Production - Jeff Thomas. Another guy that I am fiercely critical of and mostly valid due to his lack of production. Had a very nice game on Saturday though. Now the question, as seemingly always with him is can he string together several good games instead of one out of four.

Hype - Baker. I think what most of us on this site outside of one poster, lulz, we collectively felt that the defense was underperforming and not meeting expectations of last season or what we hoped from this year's defense. Turnovers down, agressiveness down, getting any key stops EVER down. Diaz so what we all saw and credit to him he pulled the trigger on the change over the weekend. I'm hoping to see a more aggressive unit this Friday night.
