Will preface this with the argument that you cannot run spread and have a dominating defense.

The Miami of the past was known for dominating defenses.

The argument for the spread has been about leveraging the natural offensive talent produced in south florida.

On the defensive side, what would that mean? What are the characteristics of south florida defensive talent and how would that talent (the recruits) take to a Miami team that puts the defense on the field a ton? Would the spread compromise defensive talent? Does south florida produce more talent at DE, LB, DB/S and would the compromise on defense be a bigger compromise than not using all the speedy WR in south florida?

Essentially the argument is this...what's better, dominating D or dominating O...what uses S. FL talent more?

Thoughts...and why those thoughts?
