I read Gary's front page article some truth in there for sure but there is more to my mind. Some on here won't be able to accept it but I'll give it a shot.
Manny promised team won't quit. This appears true for now but it ain't the quit that's missing. IT"S THE START! We have not started a game ready to play yet this season.
Manny won't be fired nor should anyone have false hope for this. Manny will be given every opportunity to put his squad on the field which means at least 3 years.
Manny's staff is another story. If Manny wants to be successful he will have to scrutinize his staff and do what every successful Head Coach does, make changes when needed even if it means firing friends. IF HE DOESN'T DO THIS HE IS DOOMED!
Real talk position groups;
O-Line ABYSMAL. No depth, no maturity, all young, no competition.
QB decent but without an O-line can't really flourish
RB's good and could be better with an O-line
WR's decent, serviceable, no 1st rounder here to my mind. Cager the Senior is BALLING at Georgia.
TE's Brevin is a stud the rest where are they? Mallory? Don't use him. Hodges Freshman. Irvin? Disappeared. You think on 1st and goal from the 4 we could have snuck out 1 of these TE's?
DB's young, no depth, poor schemes. No competition.
D-line Ends decent. DT's young with true freshman behind them. No push up the middle. OK against the run.
LB'ers 3 SENIORS all have regressed. Finley appears to be the best but he is Striker and usually out in pass coverage. No intuition.
Special teams? Punter better. Everything else not great. Nothing on kick or punt returns. Coverage team is ok. Kickoffs ok. Field goals sucks.
This is the squad our Coaches have to work with. We haven't fielded a mature Senior / Junior laden team in so long I can't even remember. In College football it makes a world of difference.
We just aren't very sound, talented, or smart as a team and that folks is Real Talk
