We have enough talent to win the ACC coastal and the ACC this year, but it was wasted because Diaz does not trust playing first time starters over veterans until they prove it on the field consistently.

The only time he plays first time starters is when he is forced to and not because he wants to play the best players.

Since starting the three freshman LB as true freshman no first time starter has trotted the field to start the season unless it was at QB.

This year was the best year to win the ACC if he managed the roster better by demoting some veterans who returned like Garvin Hall and Jonathan Ford in order to play better players like Kinchens and Leonard Taylor. In all my years of watching Jonathan Ford have I ever seen him knife through the OL to disrupt the play in the backfield. For that matter, I don't think I have ever seen anyone currently on our DL explode off the ball into the backfield like I did Taylor against FSU.

The trend with Diaz is noticeable when you see what Greg Rousseau is doing in the NFL. Why did we have to wait until 6 games into the season before demoting Patchan to backup duties and giving the lions share of the snaps to Rousseau. If Rousseau started in 2019 then we make enough plays to beat both UF and UNC, and Rousseau becomes the ALL TIME NCAA Single Season Sack Leader.

In order to win the ACC like Richt did then your best players need to be on the field regardless of tenure. Imagine not starting Ahman Richards. We don't win half of the games to our first 10 win season, because most of those games were decided by less than a touchdown.

After the UNC game Diaz lamented that not enough plays were made. Well, if you play your playmakers all at the same time then there will be enough plays made to secure wins in the ACC Coastal.
