Hello, Caniacs

NEED HELP: Caniacs, the bride and I have opted to attend a 4 pm church service (Mass) so I can only cover about 45 mins of the game until 3:20 or so. Can someone else help provide scoring updates? I plan to be back in time to cover Game 2 at 7 pm.

Thank U!

We're bbbaaaack.....17 hours after Game 1 was postponed by bad weather Friday night in Tallahassee where our Canes take on Florida State.

Miami is 36-12, 17-7/ACC and lead the Coastal Division while FSU is 30-17, 13-10/ACC, good for 4th place in the Atlantic Division.

We have a very tough matchup going against their top pitcher, Parker Messick. As I wrote below, opposing batters are hitting only .189. Last week at BC, he went 8 innings, no decision in a 3-2 loss (FSU won the series 2-1) but he struck out 12 and get this, he did that on an injured ankle, no less.

Carson Palmquist, the D behind him and our guys at the plate will have to be at their best. In a heated rivalry like this, winning Game 1 will be huge.

And lest I forget, this will be a reunion for Alex Toral, the former Cane who transferred to FSU after last season. Won't that add some intrigue? With 13 HRs, he's been enjoying that short right field at Dick Howser Stadium.
