The honors keep rolling in for David Thompson who today was named to the 2015 Dick Howser Trophy sponsored by the Easton Foundation. DT, the only ACC rep (and yeah, and tell me again how/why he wasn't named the conference POY?) on the list and he is joined by two players from Vandy (a P and SS) and OF from Arkansas and a relief P from UCLA.
Also, one of the Herald blogs quoted DT's father saying if his son is not taken in the 1st 10 rounds he will return. For one thing, after this season, that isn't happening. Personally, I wish they'd say if DT wasn't selected in the 1st round he would return to the U and get his degree. Easy for me to say since I selfishly want him to return for his senior season. BTW, dad told the Herald the decision to stay or go pro would be DT's.
Anyway, congrats to a great kid and a great Cane who deserves all the accolades he can get.
Go Canes!
P.S. How great would it be for a Cane to win an award named after a former FSU HC?
