Last year we said the offense shut it down in a lot off games when we had the offense clicking with the deep ball. Will they open things up this year especially when we could have 2 of the top WR in the ACC in Scott and Coley as some here like to predict.
In the words of Stacy Coley, the offense is not going in the direction of the receivers because of the lack of the deep ball. Below is the article and comments:
COLEY UPSET ABOUT LACK OF DEEP BALlOn the deep ball in this offense:
"They haven't really attempted it much this spring. Kaaya was getting sacked so he didn't get much chance. Whatever Coach Coley calls up we gotta execute it basically"
Golden lost this team after the F$U game and there is no indication that he's got it back. Yes, this is only March and the spring, but this team can easily be lost before the season even start. Some are wondering if this will be an attacking style offense or try to control the clock offense. Golden is implementing the wildcat, the 3 TE H-back formation, gearing more to a ball control running game. He mention these thing many time during the spring. Never has he said we will flood the offense with our receivers and attack the defense down the field. If you don't practice it, how will it work during games if you find yourself behind by 2 touchdowns? I'm just asking...
The defense has shown no sign of improvement and much of the speed has been negated by the move of our rush DEs now playing LB. Any savvy offensive minded coach will never attempt to run on this defense, they will flood the offense with WRs and pass catching TEs all day long making it difficult for us to stay in a ball control offense because you need to put points on the board to keep up.
How will this play to recruits? These 2016 recruits especially the receivers will jump ship if they see that our receivers are under utilized and not even getting the ball thrown to them down the field.
Some will look at this as a bash Golden thread. This is NOT! So all you cyber bullies need not reply! Let have a decent conversation if you don't mind. I just think we are headed in the wrong direction. This is not just the opinion of the fanbase, some on the team are questioning a few things to the media. JMO!!
