Since the Dolphins vacated the Orange Bowl in the mid 80's, the Canes have had an opportunity to address the stadium issue. It was obvious that the OB would not last forever without the NFL on Sundays...they opted to drag their feet and bask in the success of the day. Now they find themselves in a long lease at lifeless stadium where football aggression goes to die. The malaise as the slab of lifeless concrete in North Dade has affected the mighty Hurricanes who are but a mere shadow of themselves since they've been at country club they call a stadium. The place is designed for drunks who like to hang out at the bars in the club level....fans are too far away from action and the atmosphere in there is more like a Rotary meeting in Margate than it is a rowdy football stadium. the Canes flourished in the "House of Pain" (just ask Bobby Bowden, Gerry Faust or Brian Bosworth) now they woefully struggle at the most generically built stadium in the universe.
