I was referring to an earlier period. I'm aware of the latest recommendations that mask wearing is no longer a necessity. And I don't have a bad habit of making generalizations without facts. I research almost everything before I post to keep from doing that!

There isn't one shred of evidence pointing to the virus having a natural origin. Not one. If there was any evidence it came from a bat the Chinese would've presented it, and they haven't. The lab was known to be doing dangerous gain of function research and had a history of sloppy technique and multiple accidents. There are reports three workers were hospitalized and someone's wife may have died. There was no cell phone activity in the lab and roads were closed in the fall of 2019. The lab was apparently closed down. Many experts in the field feel the most likely cause was an accident which they did not admit. To say most scientists think it came from a bat is untrue and patently ridiculous.

The evidence that the virus was man-made does seem to be gaining more prevalence. The Chinese will never admit to any culpability so it will be difficult to positively prove one way or the other. However unlikely, there is still the possibility that it was a natural occurrence.
