In my memory, Trump did cut off air travel and did fight back on trade practices.

He did not, however: stand with Hong Kong; protest the treatment of Uighers or call out China for suppressing dissent. These latter 3 items were cited above as failings of the NBA and its stars due to their collective deference to China‘s revenue potential. I found it ironic that they were castigated for the same policies followed by Trump.
