I usually do not get excited about a transfer because so much can happen during the transfer period, and because a lot can also happen in the next recruiting class which will have an effect on the depth, but this CLEARLY is a case of VERY good news in my opinion.
We are in dire need of BOTH talent AND depth at Defensive Tackle, and to have a good four star athlete like Bostwick who will redshirt can only be a positive. I went and looked at some of his high school highlights on Rivals and he looks like he has excellent footwork for an athlete his size- moves very well and effortlessly. Makes sense given that he can play both inside and outside. What is REALLY interesting, looking at the BIG PICTURE, is that the Defensive Line Unit is going to be VERY young for the next year or two- we may want to consider picking up a JUCO along the way for next year just so we can have some Junior(RS) or Senior(RS) experience there.
Florida, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami, Okahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M ALL wanted this guy and offered him a scholly. Reading the front page article by Matt gives me an initial positive impression about Bostwick. My Gator friend who is from up in Martin County where Bostwick is from says that Bostwick is a versatile athlete and that we are "getting a good one"... So we'll see- he has to prove himself in practice, of course, but hey, I'll take it over what we have seen at Defensive Tackle the last two years.
