Akers, Terry, and Marvin Wilson are all draft eligible. Akers is probably a second round pick imo, Wilson probably second round or MAYBE first, and if Terry runs 4.3 at the combine which he absolutely could, he's third round at worst. Who the heck scares you on that team next season if all 3 of them leave?
That offensive line isn't going to get very much better overnight. They don't have one great pass rusher on the team. The secondary, where they've actually recruited really well on paper, looked pretty average to me. Their linebackers are nothing special. They could hire Urban Meyer and it would still take him two years to get them to being a somewhat good team imo.
Maybe part of my thinking process is me subconsciously just hoping that they keep sucking despite making a new hire lol. But I genuinely think they have some major issues. I could be dead wrong though. Maybe they make a nice hire and he finds an excellent staff. Maybe the OL improves to become at least serviceable. Maybe they get the Houston QB D'Erik King to transfer there to play under Briles and he makes a big splash for them, guess we'll see. But I really think whoever they hire has their work cut out for them in a big way.
