Our guys seem to tackle completely different when it comes to technique (rugby to be sure). I would also add, you’re seeing less targeting calls on us as well.
Yes, I wish we would see those plays too, but it looks to me that even in the NFL you just don’t see the hits we’re accustomed to seeing. So it’s probably one part linebacker play, three parts rules have changed.
Could it be that these three linebackers are the first in a new era of how the game is played... and take the criticism for it?
I remember his freshman year... Pinckney knows how to deliver a devastating hit- maybe he’s not allowed anymore?
Would also add the linebackers play a much different role in Manny’s scheme than in the past- so much so that we only use 2 of them.
