The combine is a tough competitive environment. There were 8 WR's that posted 40 yard times in the sub 4.40 category and that is makes OC's drool. Rambo ran a 4.57 and his broad jump and vertical weren't very stout. Read a comment that on one "NFL theoretical draft board" he had dropped to the bottom of the last round ... 7 picks from last. Some things can't be measured simply by 40 yard times. Jerry Rice wasn't a speedster but had an amazing work ethic and was consistently one of the best WR's in the games he played in.
The Canes haven't had a "sub 4.40" guy at WR in a long, long time. Brashard Smith and Keyshawn Smith are ... I believe (please correct as warranted) are two of our fastest WR's and Brashard was timed at 4.46 at one point. Is Ladson as fast as Smith? Haven't found a recorded time for him ... just that he is projected to be "a deep threat".
