I work, and I am proud to contribute money to tax system to live in a great community. Where, if others need to get help they can get it so they too can work and contribute. It feels awesome. Obama just gave 2 million dollars for a Chicago jobs program. Commands 400k to 600k a speech and donates it to the inner city. It is great to give back and see other less fortunate people succeed like you do. This is a great country!

Because that isn't how a productive modern society works. That's like saying why can't we trust our employees to do the right things? They make money because of the company. You make money because of the fact we live in a capitalistic society. Without that you don't make shit. Don't be fooled. People need roads, and bridges, and clean air, food, drugs, healthcare, internet, defense, fire protection, police protection on and on and on. It isn't free ironically because that's what the right says about people on welfare. Well, that holds for everyone else. These things aren't free!!!Because it is human nature. You have to reinvest in your country like you have to reinvest in your business. You couldn't have a company exist with even 30 employees without someone to manage them. We have 321 Million people in this country and you seriously think everyone isn't going to look out for self and not what the country needs to be great? Make sure they are doing the right things for the company.

If you have a number of employees that aren't productive and don't want to produce, you take them off the payroll and no longer pay them.

Companies don't grow that way. Simply replacing everyone all the time as a insane turnover rate. That is a fantasy land. The best companies have the happiest employees. I never heard of a successful company that doesn't have rules, regulations, and things in place to make sure the company grows. Same for government. It has to be in place to protect people from themselves because if they don't buy things like insurance, the rest of us have to pay for that. It isn't a tough concept to understand. This is the reason we got into this mess. People weren't buying insurance. Companies had to jack up rates. We have short memories when related to our own selfish needs. But I bet you would feel differently if someone in your family that relies on the preexisting condition rule to take care of themselves you would feel differently. It is like a football team. Looking out for self doesn't work.
Looking out for self is the problem. That's why they don't contribute. If a person doesn't want to help build the team, then they are kicked off the team. Looks like we agree then.
Selfishness in people can easily be a very short sighted, unintential way to cost you in the long run. It's called being a penny wise and a pound foolish. This is a moral issue healthcare. To allow people to die in the greatest country on earth because you want to protect the one percent of the one percent is not only morally bankrupt....it is going to financially bankrupt the upper middle class eventually. So, it is dumb on all fronts. The one percent of the one percent doesn't care if you or your family lives or dies, yet people here are trying to be all about their interest instead of the people's interest. All people....and it is morally bankrupt more than anything. Because of partisan crap?
Speaking of short-sighted, focusing on only one issue is just that. When people get cash allowances, housing, and food because they have no desire to work or work full time due to cut benefits is a huge issue with me. Either you're in or you're out.
