I believe it's his nephew who is on my son's sports team and has been going to practice everyday. Very nice and approachable guy who I have been making conversation with all week with when I finally asked him bluntly what his and all the former players' take on Golden was and If the fanbase was exaggerating with its criticism of Golden and his staff.
Not one iota of difference from what the majority of this board feels - that Golden is making Miami "Temple of the South" and that he doesnt allow the players to play Miami style football..has pretty much killed the swag and that his last day cannot get here fast enough...
Asked him how he keeps getting all these commitments if the perception is that bad and he responded that he really doesnt know how, but maybe except that a good number of hs players down here still dream of playing for the U and that drives them to commit here. That Golden completely takes advantage of that and the U's brand in that respect.
Conversation went on for a good 10-15 minutes and my heart kept sinking every minute of it.
