Safe to say Canes have one of the worst O-lines in D1. Any fan can admit that we aren't near the level of the Bama's & Clemson's in the trenches to reach pinnacle of CFB. Then if you're honest about it you can also admit that our current roster doesn't have those guys & they still need to be recruited.
Most lineman take a couple years to develop. Let's pretend we address all the OLineman & have a class filled with studs in the 2019 & 2020 classes. Let's also pretend these guys are all playing by their sophomore year & not redshirting (lineman need longer to develop/redshirt year a lot times, but we're pretending here). that means that 2020 class OL guys will be playing 2021 & really ready 2022. That's a best case scenario for the Oline.
As a die hard cane fan it seems like we've been in a rebuilding mode for 17 years now & not able to address the Dline or Oline in the same season no matter who the coach has been. Bottom line is once you get the lineman in the program it still take a couple years & we don't have them at the U yet.
