This is from the Nydailytimes :
Former Miami assistant coach Marc Trestman, the coach of the two-time defending CFL Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes, also received strong consideration for the job, as did UConn coach Randy Edsall and Houston coach Kevin Sumlin.

The article came out announcing the hiring of Al Golden

Think what u will but he would have brought an exciting brand of football to miami. He would have landed Teddy and Amari
. He is an excellent recruiter and has a scheme that appeals to the south fla talent. He made Tamu the it school in Texas.

He has had troubles with the defense but he has always went hard in trying to address it. When he first got hired he went after Pat narduzzi and bud foster. He had to settle for the guy that he just replaced who was not that bad coming in because he had a good rep. After he fired him he went hard after Bud Foster again almost landing him but he got chavis instead which is not to bad a trade off.

He has produced a first rnd pick at QB, WR and 2 possibly 3 1st rnd picks at LT.

He has been offered and pursued by numerous NFL teams because of his offensive system. Even with that he admitted this yr in an article after a loss that he may have to look at the scheme and adjust it in how they are teaching it, if it's working and throw out what is not working. The same scheme that has made him succesful and pursued my NFL teams he said he would look to adjust... WOW!

He has 2 coaches from him staff that are now college head coaches:

Former OC Kliff Kingsbury HC Texas Tech
Former Wr coach David Beaty Kansas HC

Definitely a miss right here
