We were all upset with him last year due to immaturity , I don’t think anyone blames the production on him as he had his hands tied behind his back in a horrible game plan week in and week out with zero creativity or quick developing calls . However the kid has a rocket for an arm, he can run the ball when we need and he’s been in battle and won vs our biggest rival FSU. Many things have taken place that point towards huge improvements in who it seems is going to be our starting QB August 24th vs the Florida Gators .
1. Humility -for the first time in the kids life he was humbled by not being able to beat teams by just showing up with his talents like in high school, the media and the critics really brought him down to earth after every loss.
2. Support system - After some of the dumbest mistakes a Div 1 QB could make on his personal time , he not only didn’t get expelled from the prestigious university he attends , but the entire coaching staff rallied behind him and I’m sure gave him some wicked tough love with the light at the end of the tunnel being the fact that With all the mistakes you’ve made and embarrassment you’ve brought towards our Program , we still believe in you kid! We still have your back and want to see you become a success story ! We still believe you will be our starting QB so don’t let us down .
3. Experience - he’s now been on a college football regime for two full years of eating right , working out , and playing amongst the best in the world . Those live bullets last year will only do good for him .
4. Punter - Nkosi and the offense in general will hopefully no longer be on the wrong end of horrible field position constantly .
5. Dan Enoe- I’ve seen enough and I’ve read enough to know that this man was a god send for us fans of the U and even more so for our offense and starting quarterback , he is intense , hands on and overflowing with creativity and crafty knowledge .
6. Tate Martell- Genius move by Manny Diaz to light a fire under the ass of every QB on Roster .
The constant talk of QB weakness heading into 2019 in my opinion will be flip flopped into Wow miami is much improved at QB and Nkosi Perry is a good one .
