I’m sure nobody reads all 12 pages of Q and A, but last night Gary in that Q/A thread again affirmed that as of now Blake James is very safe and he has not one seen one shred of evidence that James is any trouble. Again, we cannot let them sacrifice Manny Diaz with the same poor infrastructure in place led by James. As of now, if they believe they need to make a change (and they likely do) James will be in charge of the department. That completely defeats the point of what all Canes fans are desperately fighting for, to restore our legacy program. Remember this, by not replacing Blake James, the administration is telling us our standards are Wake Forest/Boston College.

What THEY should do….immediately terminate James, name Jonathan Vilma interim AD (who will be in charge of the football search), give Vilma all the resources necessary to hire a coach with a ten member UM search committee to advise him. Bring in an alpha HC and then hire an AD with a proper national search after football is resolved. With an alpha HC, he is not threatened by the new AD and they obviously have to meet and feel they can work together. That’s our only solution out of this, IMO. Everything needs to focused on Blake James and not Manny Diaz.
