Look I am not here to defend Blake. But lots of misinformation going on.
1)As I have said Blake hired Manny and absolutely backed him in 2019 when there was some movement to dump him after just 1 year. Blake assured them that 1 year was not enough and more importantly assured everyone that major staff changes were happening.
2)Just because he did it once does not mean he will do it again. The fact is a lot has changed since 2019 and Blake is not going to bank his career on trying to save Manny again. There is no doubt I think he would like him to win out and see if retention is possible but short of that Manny is gone. And Blake is not afraid to pull the trigger and more importantly is not going to stand in the way.
3)His statements on Friday. Guys his statements are no different then what Paul Dee said during the 2006 season with regards to Coker and his job security. We can't have it both ways, we can't criticize him as he stays silent when there is growing sentiment that a change might happen and then scream when he does say something. Sorry I have no problem with what he said on Friday. And Manny is big boy, this is a big boy business. He knows what his ultimate measuring stick is and right now he is not cutting it. If he thought his AD was going to come out and say "Everything is fine, I expect Manny to be the coach at Miami for years to come, this is just a blip..." then he is the one with the issue.
Again it very well may be justified to get a new AD. But this idea that James won't fire Manny because he is "tied to him" is not true.
