Clemson has high incidence of COVID. LSU has 30 players and it is also at Texas and Alabama. Small schools are already cancelling games. In Florida , cases are surging particularly among young people. Add to that the higher susceptibility (so far) of African Americans and you get a recipe for disaster if the season begins. Watch as some NBA players will opt out of the July start if even that happens.
I am longing for football but not at the expense of lives. Major league baseball looks like toast and teams are offering drafted players contracts that begin in 2021. Maybe television will persuade the NFL to play but without some sort of effective testing and treatment it is a precarious situation. Best case going forward is for all of us to be standing in line in January for a vaccine.
I'm not usually a pessimist but am realistic and this is how it looks to me. So stay safe and keep those face masks on!
