Congress underfunded Obama's Benghazi request by $128M. That's the reason there was a small token force guarding the compound. The republican leadership insisted there were reinforcements 1 hr away & no attempt was made to contact them.
It doesn't make sense to have them 1 hr away when they could've been there when it happened. It was an attempt to try to make the Obama administration look inept, dysfunctional.

Ozonacane1, the way congressional republicans left the compound is another example of how they handle military affairs. They always say "we salute you, we honor you, we respect you, we appreciate you." Its nothing more than a "bumper sticker " Mentality when a rescue force was a hour away & the small token force had to wonder when is help coming?
Republicans & Obama critics criticize him for the 2013 decision regarding Syria. When you have congress with a republican majority & underfunding our military how could he have sent boots on the ground???!!!! And of course the Russians didn't do a very good job of seeking out WMDs. Without US forces no one could hold the Russians feet to the fire. The cause & effect of this is The GOP caucus with the exception of the freedom caucus are now under the thumb of Trumputin.& are doing everything they can to accommodate him for fear their party will get hacked by the Russians. If the GOP in congress had any foresight at all they wouldn't have to worry about the Russians breathing down their necks.
