Horse shit, no one is erasing his name but damn if you can't handle the truth what is the problem. You can't at once say local municipalities should be able to govern themselves and then try to dictate what you think must be the norm.
You point to the bill of rights and then shiddd on it b/c you disagree with an opinion 3k miles from you.
Lincoln had some asshole racist fugged up views. Dude literally believed that you and I couldn't live in the same area strictly on the basis of race. Many great men before him, during his life, and after him knew better and said as much so spare me with the "man of his times" bullshit. He wasn't an abolitionist which is what the bigots who want to celebrate the traitors (aka Confederate scumbags who attacked the United States of America and killed more Americans than any other foreign group) hang their hats on.
So yes:
Lincoln gave multiple speeches on how blacks and white couldn't live together.
"Four days before his death, speaking to Gen. Benjamin Butler, Lincoln still pressed on with deportation as the only peaceable solution to America’s race problem. “I can hardly believe that the South and North can live in peace, unless we can get rid of the negroes … I believe that it would be better to export them all to some fertile country…” US Archives
And then there is this gem.
“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and Black races,” he began, going on to say that he opposed Black people having the right to vote, to serve on juries, to hold office and to intermarry with whites.
So I suggest that you not be angry when folks are measured by truths. The Emancipation Proclamation didn't free the slaves, hell it wasn't even designed to, literally, it allowed slavery to flourish in border states, or regions of the Confederacy that had turned its back on the traitors and were attempting to cow favor with the USA.
The Ethnic cleansing of "The Long Walk" which was the prologue to The Trail of Tears...the Sandy Creek Massacre where hundreds of women and children were slaughtered...all Lincolns.
What makes America great is that despite its fuxked up history she moves forward to the promises of her ever evolving original document. Anyone that can't handle the truth or gets butt sore when presented with facts should, as they say, fugk your feelings.
