Update:
Well, Caniacs...we didn't play well at all...the only run we got was a HR by Del Castillo that tied the game at 1-1 in the 4th...we kept our bats on our shoulders too many times...took too many strikes down the middle...left too many on base in scoring position...never got the clutch hit like they did...
So read it and weep, Caniacs...for the 5th year in a row, it's the same old story as once again we lose the series....reality check: they have taken 12 of last 15 and 30 of the last 38 games vs the U......we have a new coach but nothing has changed...I think we were all feeling pretty good after Friday night's win...I know I was...but then the Gates started playing like the No. 3 or 4 team they are...
How do they lose at USF 6-1 and then at home to UNF 7-1...lose again to us Friday night but then rebound and shut us down the last 2 games...how do U explain it? I sure would like to see them again in the post-season...we have got to break thise streak...but when?
Here's your final:
UM 1
UF 4
Here's the final linescore:
UM 1 8 1
UF 4 10 1
We drop to 5-2 after we won the opening game against these guys as we lose the last 2...Gates now 5-3...
Final Post-Game Info
Post-Game Story ( UM Link): Canes Drop Series at No. 4 Florida, 4-1
Final Game Stat Summary (UF link): UMvs UF
Final Box Score (UM link): UM vs UF
We struck out 10x, they K'd only 4x....they left 8 on base, we left 7...
We had our chances in this one but we could not get the clutch hit...they could and we made more mistakes at the plate and in the INF...simple as that. Very disappointing play by us in Games 2 and 3...totlly different from Game 1 when I thought we were aggressive at the plate...made hit and made plays...
Maybe we can change things Aug 31...
Next game...Wed night at FIU...I may do that game but the following weekend we host Maryland/Baltimore County...not sure if I will do any of those...
Thanks for being a part of the thread...no matter what, it's great to be...
Go Canes!

Happy Sunday, Caniacs!
Well, last night was a tough one to watch. We were thisclose to taking the series. Of course, not knowing what would happen later, but in the 7th, Chris McMahon, who was outstanding all night, walked the last guy he faced, the No. 9 batter no less. Can't let that happen.
Then True FR closer (we'll see if that sticks) J.P. Gates walked the first 2 batters he faced to load the bases. Next man up, Dalton their best hitter, smacked a bases-loaded triple to give the Gates their first lead at 5-3. I think he was 1-2 when he got the hit so we were one pitch away there from getting out of the inning.
So much for last night. Time to move on to today for the rubber game.
