….No. 9.
Frankly, I’m quite surprised but maybe voters cut us some slack knowing we were on the road playing an arch rival. We went 2-2 for the week and so did No. 2 Oregon St. and they didn’t drop. They lost Saturday and Sunday at unranked Arizona. But it also helps the Beavers’ record is an impressive 40-11.
The ACC has 6 teams in the poll, SEC has 5.
Here’s how our conference teams fared:
No. 3. VT up 2 & won 2 of 3 at home vs ranked Louisville
No. 9 Miami down 6 (Okie St went 0-4 and fell only 5)
No. 10 Louisville dropped 3 after going 2-2
No. 12 Virginia stayed put even though they went 3-1
No. 14 Notre Dame moved up 2 after 3-1 week
No. 20. FSU up 1 after 4-1 week, they move up only 1?
I have not checked the other polls.
Miami’s next game is Tuesday at 6 pm at The Light against Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU).
Then we welcome No. 14 Notre Dame to The Light for a crucial season-ending ACC series. We must win at least 2 going into the conference tournament.
Speaking of, bc the event starts next Tuesday (I believe) all ACC weekend series start on Thursday, not Friday and ends Saturday to allow teams enough time to travel to Charlotte. So again, our weekend series vs the Irish will be:
Thursday 7 pm
Friday 7 pm
Saturday 1 pm.
Finally, a great BIG thank U to all who helped provide scoring updates for Sunday’s Game 3 at FSU. Have a great week, Caniacs!
Go Canes!
