Obama wasn't up for reelection and Hillary was obviously not Obama. Had Obama been able to run for.a third term he would've easily won.
Obviously that Obama would've beaten Trump if he was allowed to run against him. It would've been a bigger blowout than Biden's win over Trump.

They treated him normally - the reason they went rough on Trump was because they (along with the entire world) knew he was a serial liar who routine made things up - to the tune of 30k plus during his four years. Lies will always get you bad press.
They never treated Trump normally compared to Barry who they would never ask a tough question of, just like with Joe when he was running against Trump. If they had tracked the guy that got thrown out of the 1988 presidential race for lying and plagiarism the same way that they did with Trump, Lying Joe would have been well over a million lies by now.
