I was at the spring tour tonight in Tampa - here are some highlights.... When asked when they would be revealed, he said probably around mid-July. Then he said definitely by September 5th, but that seemed more like he was joking.
Golden also was asked about how he felt about Duke leaving early (great question was asked by a kid about 10 years old lol) - Golden was very supportive, said it was something he and Duke had talked about during his entire career. Golden is well aware of the short shelf-life of RB in the NFL, and he felt it was a good decision for Duke to go early. He was very happy to see the RB's get drafted in the first round because he then knew Duke would be drafted by round 3.
Golden also made a point to say they currently have 29 players committed from Florida in the next three classes. Definitely emphasized that is their strategy. Talked about how hard recruiting is now, and how many players are so focused on themselves and getting into the NFL and not the team goals. Larranega echoed the same thing with basketball recruiting.
Another tidbit - they are VERY happy with Adidas and all the attention they are getting. They made it clear to Nike that they did not want to be just another school under the Nike brand, and that Nike's goal is to sign as many teams as possible. Adidas and Under Armor were willing to give the U special attention, and that's what sold them. Then Adidas outbid UA.
