Lulu sang To Sir With Love and was also in the movie. It was one of the first 45 records that I bought and I also have a signed album from her in my collection.

Yes, Downtown was about 2 or 3 years before To Sir With Love. Both had amazing voices but I preferred Lulu simply because she was in the movie.
Poitier is an outstanding actor. My favorite is A Raisin in the Sun.
