Alright guys, making my first ever trip to Miami this week. I planned on trying to walk around campus a little bit, but no plans other than that.

Any advice for other things to do, restaurants, etc.?

Marlin fishing
Charter a nice boat for the day even if you’re not into fishing.
Hard rock casino
Havana walk

Joe's Stone Crab - arrive early!

Good idea 17. Though out here in Cali, I ordered the full Joe’s Stone Crab dinner for 4 for Xmas. FedEx goofed it but ultimately delivered one day late after Joe’s pressured them. Still fresh.

Delicious and fun for my family. No question that the large claws and Key Lime Pie were the biggest hits. Well worth it.

Remember the maître d' of Joes back then? He was right out of central casting. Great voice over the microphone. Was always getting his palm greased. It's a fortune to eat there, but well worth the experience. I remember going with my Dad in the 70's, then going over to Miami Beach Dog Track. Good times...

Ne never took money on the way in you had to grease him on the way out. He was there for over 30 years and it was estimated he made at least 100K cash in a 6 month period as Joes was only open for the 6 month Stone Crab season back then and closed the rest of the year. Worth noting that Joes then and now is routinely one of the highest volume restaurants in the entire country year in and out. Often over looked is all the other dishes on the menu especially the fried chicken still $6.95 for half a chicken. The food is of the highest quality including the steaks.

Just a fantastic place. And to think there wasn't any value with Stone Crabs until Joe Weiss figured it out...
