College football coaches are falling in love with 2024 Miami Central receiver/defensive back Joshia Trader, and for great reasons. The four-star prospect is as athletic as it gets and shows up in spectacular fashion for primetime games.

Trader was a key contributor to Central’s (12-2) championship season in 2021. The partial stat line has him with 592 receiving yards over six games off 26 receptions with six touchdowns on the board. In the 5A state championship game, Trader showcased his blazing speed and athleticism snagging four passes for 122 yards with two scores and took a pick-six 90 yards.

December offers from Pitt, Tennessee, Georgia and Michigan are pushing Trader towards the 20-offer mark. Of the offering teams, Trader shared that Ohio State, Penn State and Miami are perhaps recruiting him a little bit harder than the others.

The regular contact has him ready to take at least two visits, “I will visit Ohio State and UM (Miami) for sure. I am not sure about other schools yet.”

From a South Florida Express workout, Trader shared his interest in the Buckeyes leading to the visit.

“Their receivers’ coach Brian Hartline,” Trader said. “He’s like – I think it would be great with him coaching me. He’s energized and he’s got great techniques.”

Trader also shared his interest in the Hurricanes.

“Honestly, I am interested in them as a DB because of coach (DeMarcus) Van Dyke.”
