Just to discuss .. dead period! Looks pretty clear that the Joe Brady ship has sailed. Forget that he was fired by the Panthers .. a lot of people look at Rhule and the roster and believe Brady was a scapegoat. There are apparently at least 5 NFL teams that might be considering Brady for either OC or even head coach. Teams that want a new defensive philosophy and direction .. and QB development.
So .. it looks like Briles might be the guy and his bowl game is Jan. 1. Is Schumann still in the running for DC (hope so) .. but he is also potentially staying in Georgia .. or taking the DC position in Oregon. His bowl game is 12-31. If they are both keeping quiet until their bowl games .. we could possibly be getting an announcement by January 2nd .. UNLESS Georgia makes the championship game (1-11) and he decides not to be a "distraction" and keeps it quiet until after the Championship game. So getting Briles as OC with maybe Coley as QB coach, and Schumann as DC .. would put UM in pretty good shape for staff. I have read that Schumann is a recruiting beast as well .. so that would fit Mario's preference for key staffers .. quality x & o's guy who can recruit.
