We will get negative recruited against for our stadium situation forever, unless we ever had our own on-campus venue. Last I checked, SLS will still be 45 minutes from campus and we will still be leasing it. That's more than enough ammo for opponents. Throw in the fact that the set up is not and never will be conducive to a true CFB atmosphere. At least a new stadium has a chance to create a real CFB atmosphere.
You talk about amenities like they are actually important to CFB fans. SLS pre-renovations had better amenities than any CFB stadium in the country. That didn't benefit us. Amenities and comfort just give fans a reason to do anything other than stand up and make noise for their team.
We don't even need to get into the issues with having a stadium that is significantly larger than your average attendance, even in good years.
Only thing I agree with you on is the proposed location. Tropical Park would be ideal.
