Wasn't he on the no fly list ? Usually reserved for potential and terrorist types? He is a muslim now, correct?
Maybe you had to be there at the time and on a lot of drugs but I just don’t get it. Everyone of his songs to me come off as predictable, boring, rudimentary, lacking in talent, cliche and just annoying.
Neil young who’s also a wack job, Cosby still and nash, jim croce, bob dylan etc i get. How do you listen to cat steven and then listen to the greatness of the Band for example and even put them in the same league?
Another one I don’t get is Elvis Costello. Guy at least has some songs that are kinda cool I guess but my god does he have a lot of songs that just suck something else. His voice is just so naggie. His best stuff is truly just dumbed downed poor mans versions of guys that did it better than him and mostly before him. He looked like a college commie nerd though so I guess that helps with his legacy. How much you wanna bet his real name was Milton the third and he just heard the name of the king and his music, saw how cool he was and decided to steal the name? Name one other Elvis you’ve ever heard of in you’re life.
a couple cool songs I’ve revisted lately from that genre that I’m digging , talkin baseball by Terry Cashman and dancin in the moonlight by dark harvest. I’d love to change the world by ten years after also a forgotten treasure.
