Solar a Consensus is necessary , especially when dealing with multifactorial events. You brought up specialization in medicine, this DOES NOT fall into that category. A joint is bone ligaments, cartilage , muscles, nerves and a vascular supply. Even then a vascular Dr (scientist) will have opinion, as to the flow of circulation and lymphatics , after the proposed surgical fix. Climate involves many many factors the air, the land, the absorption, the filtering, the stability of magnetic fields, the composition of the earth, etc. That climatologist see a problem is fine, that the rest of the affected scientific community doesn't agree with the severity and eventuality of your study/ theory is what counts. That more have come to agree or disagree is just hype and public fodder, as far a scientific method The results , and the evidence support further study , not life changing / altering remedies.
On the historic weather patterns, you may have to get the pulse over climatologists and AGW, because as you stated , "short weather patterns aren't significant"( to paraphrase) They are. They show the earth releases it's trapped heat resolving the problem ( good thing because we are still here to argue over it lol)

I believe with observation we will determine if the problem resolves or will need to be resolved, BUT I firmly believe the Climate Crisis is ripe for exploitation, and has been exploited. I believe Many individuals, who have selfish interests with climate crisis (monetarily and politically(Solara ding ding) ) have and are exploiting this, and if you are or consider yourself a scientist you need to be outraged that something so serious ad all encompassing can be used like a tool for selfish personal gain. Its that bastardization of science that will debase our discipline imho

There’s a source of confusion for you here. Pollution is not the same as CO2 emissions. The list I gave you is highest CO2 emitters by country. Both are important, for sure. But not all pollutants trap heat in the atmosphere.

Mahb you either didn’t read what I wrote or completely misinterpreted it. The analogy to climate science, a certain subset of science, and any other subset is the same across the board. I used medicine, but I could use others. The reason I brought them up is to say that amongst climate scientists, there is consensus, and if they didn’t have the entire scientific community agreeing with them (they do), it wouldn’t matter because doctors, although they have backgrounds in science, are not climate scientists and their opinions don’t, and shouldn’t hold weight on the subject. And again, amongst them, there definitely is a consensus. If you don’t want to believe that it’s up to you.
Re: short term weather patterns. Again, climate is the study of weather over long
periods of time. Short-term weather events could matter, but are not the driver of warming (because they don’t last for 50 years). They are short term.
No I think I understood you fine. I think our breadth differs. "Climatology" is a relatively new field, as compared to older more classical fields of study. All our Science were developed by Great people Davinci, Paget, Madam Curie, Franklin, etc. What they had in common was they worked the whole field of science from gravity to chem to geography, anatomy, astrology. etc . What climatologists have now, they inherited from others , from other fields, from aerospace, astronomy, so its natural a group of people with the same interest could all agree on the same conclusion ( confirmation bias is what we would guard against in a med research). You says that there are unprecedented weather changes over the past decades Will you be intellectually honest enough to agree that there have been unprecedented changes in gathering of weather information over the past decades?
For example, advances in Satellite data gathering now show a 76 MPH gust of wind over the middle of the Atlantic ocean. That wind gust in now given an official name and is formally listed as a hurricane. In the past a hurricane had to come down Biscayne Blvd or Bourbon Street before anyone new about it or named it. Now the Green Weenies are saying there is an higher than ever occurence of Hurricanes, because of a dozen random gusts of 76 MPH wind as seen from a Satelite that only scared a SeaGull and affected no land.
