As a Republican, I have to agree. When you sign up for a job like Senator you have to change things if emergencies happen. Cruz can be brilliant and he can also be tone deaf. Kids get the benefit of his being a Senator and have to understand the downside. Most of us have had to cancel or cut short family vacations due to biz situations coming up unexpectadely.

Wrong info you have. Ted just stated on camera at a make shift news conference in his own yard his daughters wanted to go somewhere on vacation some days ago and he and his wife booked the flight and hotel and they went.
We have to be better than Biden and hold our team accountable. If Ted were to go anywhere it should be to DC with a bull horn to shout for Biden to declare an emergency and allow Texans to care of each other without having to worry about a border jail break.
Either way Ted has a job to do. Heidi can take the kids. I am not a Senator and several times I had to leave late or early from a family vacation due to a business situation arising. It is the job that pays for the nice vacations. A nice vacation is earned, not a human right. Although Biden would promise it if he thought he needed to do so to get Kamala elected.

Marco is sounding really good these days. He is one of very few senators worth a darn. Between FLA and TN, we do have a good 4.
I'll hedge a bit and say a Republican Governor - Lot of good ones out there.
Or a wild card of Trey Gowdy. - The guy just makes sense every time he talks
I’ve always felt Marco comes across as the most sincere but it’s hard to say who will be in that field. I’m sure Ted will be in there. Looks like Desantis probably also . Gowdy is another guy who is all talk. I’ve yet to see him actually act on anything he talks about.
