President Trump was elected due to the failures of the Obama Administration. You are correct, it was a backlash! They were laughing and having fun, not believing their luck that they so easily penetrated the Capitol.

Were they even arrested? No. Only about 11 of those who assaulted the Capitol were arrested. 11! Across DC, another 40 were later arrested for breaking curfew. Incredible poor defense of the Capitol.
