5 sacks were Jarren not throwing the ball away or running past the line of scrimmage. Things you can teach, but for now they count as sacks.

The rest of the issue I saw was not knowing the snap count better than the defense. On nearly every play except wildcat the DE was across the line of scrimmage before Nelson was out of his stance.

Watch our first game over and see for yourself. We never fire off the ball. We should always take the first step if we are the offense. There is no reason for anyone on offense to be a half second behind the defense when the ball is snapped, because the offense controls the snap count.

It's the smallest thing done right everytime that wins ballgames.

It's one of the oldest laws of nature. It is easier to move an object that is idle than it is to move the same object traveling towards you. It is the difference between pushing a car much heavier than you or getting ran over.

Will it fix all our OL issues? That's wishful thinking, because we still need to recruit better. However, using the snap count to our advantage is guaranteed to help us win games compared to the alternative we saw last Saturday.
