He is possibly the guy. Furman Alum which is in South Carolina. Has ties to the state as having worked Clemson staff under Bowden then as OC of Clemson under Dabo. Always been a great recruiter and position coach. Got that Saban shine after being let go by Dabo and is doing good things at Louisiana.
speaking of him getting fired. Dabo replaced him with Chad Morris. Now Billy and Dabo called plays together and that didn’t work so brought in a guy that had experience, that was cutting edge at the time and could revamp/reshape their offense. Even though Chad left his ideas and things he brought are still helping/ working with tony Eliot and Dabo calling plays.
it makes me wonder if this is some Manny might need. @rnb2002 mentioned possibly Charlie Strong as a replacement for Baker. This might be a great idea because here you have a guy with strong Fla and south Fla ties. Experienced DC and HC and has that Saban shine now as well. He could definitely help manny as a experienced HC, bring new and different ideas to the D and tremendous help in recruiting and even after he leaves like Chad with Clemson what he brought Manny and next DC is they keep baker or promote Banda could use.
