Promote Shoops to DC. Release Patke (who I think is a good coach but this is more important). Keep Manny on as head coach and Lashlee as OC! Give these kids some stability. Let them develop not learn new coaches and new ways of doing things constantly.
I would open up all competition on the team including QB.
I would use the transfer portal to completely fix this defense with the exception of an offensive linemen or two. Depending on how high school recruiting goes.
I would focus mostly on the offense on the high school recruiting stuff. However, I would get a lot of experienced players on defense. Guys that get to the QB mostly off the edge.
Obviously TVD would have the inside track on the starting QB job if he wins out....but we have to get Jake ready to go just in case something happens. We have to get him in the Mindset he could run this team.
Next year we make our move to winning the ACC.
The following year we make our move to the Natty!!!
This is a 5/6 year project and walking around with a U shirt on and thinking it is the 90's doesn't change any of this.
