We are actually improving as a team and the evidence is on the field. This has been a tough year, but the fight I see in our team is impressive. In the last two weeks, we have played two teams who have strong d-lines. Pitt was leading the NCAA in sacks and FSU D-line is no pushover. The same o-line we were crying over weeks earlier gave up two sacks in both of those games. That's a clear improvement over what we have been seeing. Another example of improvement; Jeff Thomas made one of the most crucial plays against FSU. He actually took a pass interference foul for the team. There has been plenty of times on a play similar to that play, Jeff would not fight for the ball and let the defender come down with an interception. He showed great maturity and poise taking one for the team and we got a field goal before the half. On the defensive side of the ball, the boys have been playing their butts off the last three weeks. Those havoc plays we have been missing at the beginning of the season are starting to become a consistent theme. I hope these trends continue and for the first time since the NC game, I'm excited to see us play next week.
