The hiring of Bob Shoop has been heralded as an outstanding hire as the HC will have a seasoned pro to do the advance scouting / defensive game planning this year.
Does UM need MUCH more in that category of staff? Orgeron received a 'scouting' report from a buddy on Bamas staff .. and he was stunned regarding the detail that Bama
had put together on LSU's tendencies on offense, defense, and ST. He felt his team didn't have a chance to succeed against that type of preparation. He immediately doubled
LSU's "analyst" staff from 5 to 10. He said it "immediately paid dividends. We opened with Miami .. and I believe WE knew more about their strengths, weaknesses and tendencies than
they did .. and it showed in the score with our dominant win".

The addition of Shoop is a great start .. but how many does UM actually need in order to be prepared. You can be sure Saban's staff will have more than a basic knowledge of UM's
tendencies and capabilities at every position .. and will exploit weaknesses. How well prepared will UM be by comparison? Then how well will UM be prepared .. by comparison .. to
the ACC opponents we face. Seems like the U needs to continue to upgrade and expand the staff it there is any legit desire to be competitive with the top 5 programs.
