Have been reading with great interest (and anticipation) articles and comments regarding John Ruiz and his passion for UM Athletics .. football in particular .. and his public comments that he is ready to support the University of multiple levels. REPORTEDLY he has the potential to become to UM what Phil Knight has been to Oregon. His SPAC company, MSP Recovery, is supposed to go public and be listed on NASDAQ "in the 4th quarter of 2021". Once that happens his personal holdings in MSP Recovery will be worth a projected $20 Billion dollars .. and this is all being projected based on a market valuation of 10.5 times earnings .. relatively conservative from what I have read.
His comments regarding "The UM brand is the strongest brand in college sports .. and properly marketed and developed .. can lead the U of M football program back to where it was in the 90's". He is a guy with a vision of what he thinks the program can be . . and he will soon have the major $$ to be able to cut 8 or 9 figure checks in support of the program .. AS LONG AS HE IS IN AGREEMENT WITH THE DIRECTION THINGS ARE GOING. I'm no insider .. anybody have any insight they can add to this actually happening? Might really impact the current decision making process on many levels.
