Live Game Thread: Miami Baseball vs. BYU (Game 1)

After four innings, the Canes and Cougars are tied at one.

Ziehl has allowed one run on a solo home run, and allowed three total hits, and struck out four, for a total of 51 pitches.

Miami scores on a grounder by Villegas, scoring Jacoby Long in the first inning.
 
Jack Scanlon aided Dorian Gonzalez to the plate on a fielder's choice in the 6th inning to take a 2-1 lead for Miami.

Gage Ziehl was still on the mound for Miami in the top of the 8th inning.

He's allowed only one run on five hits and has struck out ten batters and walked two.

Miami is trying to add insurance in the bottom of the 8th. Cuvet on second with a double.
 
Brian Walters takes the mound for the Hurricanes in the 9th inning and gives up a home run to the first BYU batter that ties the game.
 
Nick Robert on the mound for the Hurricanes for Miami now. BYU has runners on first and second, one out.
 
A base hit and wild pitch loads the bases, but Robert was able to get a strike out for the second out.
 
Robert gets out of the inning with another strikeout. Miami will need a walk-off to win this game in the bottom of the 9th.
 
A dropped ball in center allowed Carlos Perez to advance to second base. Urso grounded out to advance Perez to third, two outs.

Jacoby Long is at the plate as BYU changes pitchers.
 
BYU gets a hit in the top of the 10th inning but fails to advance the runner.

Miami gets a runner aboard as Gonzalez walked, but Costello lines out for the third out.

On to the 11th inning we go.
 
Miami gets out of the top of the 11th with a double play and will have another opportunity to walk it off.
 
Gaby Gutierrez bunts the runner over to second base and Costello lines out to move the runner to third, two outs, with Urso at the plate.
 
Miami gets out of the top of the 12th inning and have a runner on board in the bottom of the 12th. Villegas bunted Long over to put him scoring position.
 
Miami walks it off in the 12th inning to defeat BYU 3-2

Daniel Cuvet singles up the middle to score Long to win it for the Hurricanes.
