Looks like Trumps predictions of Bidens actions are................

Yeah it’s not true but it’s true. Dude stop lying! The guy has lied about raising taxes on the middle class. You guys swore he wouldn’t do that until he then states he would do away with the Trump tax cuts. Guess what dummy, that’s the middle class. Are you that stupid or are just that pathological?

He literally ran on repealing the Trump tax cuts and won the election,. So guess what, he's probably going to repeal the Trump tax cuts since they're regressive, and replace that with a more progressive plan that taxes wealthier people at a higher rate. Taxes on people who make over 400k would go up by raising the top rate from 37 to 39.6. Capitol gains on income above $1m would also be taxed at 39.6 . These are all widely known because he ran and won on them.

He won only because he wasn't Trump. It had nothing to do with his policies, which are now giving many of those that voted for him voter's remorse. 81 million to 75 million is hardly a mandate to push through whatever he wants with the mere stroke of a pen. Are higher gas and oil prices considered regressive in any way in your eyes?

The gap is actually 7m people, which is a big enough amount for there to be a mandate on policy since only Obama's win over McCain was by a wider margin since the 90s..

On your last question - oil and gas are gradually going away, so its important for our next President to position our country to compete in the clean energy market - not just for the same of the vastly higher number of jobs, but also due to the effects excessive amount of fossil fuels have on climate change.

He also stated he wouldn’t cut the taxes for middle class. Those statements directly conflict with each other so stop trying to manipulate what was being said. You can’t do away with some tax cuts and not do away with all of them. They were all in the same bill. I know what the truth is so stop your lying bullish-t!

Oil and gas will not be completely out of our society in the next 100 years , unless you are suggesting it will be depleted? How will passenger planes fly?

He's definitely going to repeal the part of it that affects the highest earners, which can obviously be done without affecting the middle class.

Again, no mandate at all, when 75 million vote for the loser. Be sure to let us know then when gas and oil go away. Until then we still need it and we need it to not be more expensive when so many are hurting right now. BTW, congrats on replacing those $85 dollar an hour pipeline jobs with your fancy new $15 an hour jobs in renewables. Quid Pro Joe's buddy China on the other hand will be flooded with all the new solar panel jobs that they will be getting thanks to Joe owing them for giving his crackhead son $1.5 billion.

How are higher gas and oil prices affecting the middle class at a time when they're hurting so badly already?

Trump barely got over 74m so it would be kind to say he got 75. A 7m vote difference in the popular vote at a time when the country is more divided than ever is a pretty wide margin, so Biden is going to be pushing his agenda, especially now that he has the Congress on his side.

They're not. The price of oil is very low right now (about $52/bl), due to global oversupply because of US shale and the fact that OPEC and Russia have been locked in a supply stalemate for the past couple of years. Keystone is not a factor in any of that.

You do realize, and this is just how shortsighted this Biden policy is, oil is used to make all kinds of things/ when we are are energy independent, our cost remain low because we control our own market. When we have to rely on opec and middle eastern oil we are exposed to their volatility.

It’s a stupid idea that is going to cost everyone a lot of lonely for the next 4 years. The good news is Biden has already posed off a lot of people and will cause the Danes to lose the house and senate and the executive office in 2024. It won’t take much to beat him because he is tone deaf and only cares about the system.

Trump in defeat got more votes than any presidential candidate in history besides Lying Joe. Again, hardly a mandate.

They are. A quick check showed that oil is over $50 per barrel and gas prices have gone up 20 cents per gallon here in Utah when it is usually cheaper here in the winter. Oh yeah I forgot, that is just anecdotal.

That's because more people participated in the election, not because Trump was more popular than his opponent. When you lose by 7m votes, you really don't have any leverage to claim the winner doesn't have a decent sized mandate to proceed with his agenda. And let's not forget, many of Biden's policies are little more than a continuation of Obama's - who himself had two blowout election wins.

Fixed it, thanks. its 52 right now. This means that a lot of Shale producers will come back online at around $55-65 range, which should push the price down again.

Quite a big difference in losing 74 million to 81 million compared to 7 million to 0. No matter how you spin this, there is no mandate.

The Dems control Congress and the Presidency, so it would be fair to say the people have given them the reigns to implement the Dem agenda. That may change at the mid terms if the GOP retake the house (President's party generally doesn't fare well during mid terms), but until then I would imagine we are going to see the agenda Biden ran on, with occasional bipartisan overlap when both parties can agree on something (like infrastructure).

Elections matter.

It is refreshing on here to see Biden (and his supporter, Raoul) attacked because he won the election and is now doing what he promised. Where is the anger at DJT for letting this happen?

* only 2 other incumbent presidents have lost in the last 90 year: Jimmy Carter and George HW Bush. The incumbent has the forum and the power. Hard to lose. DJT lost.

* The Dems had no business losing the two Senate seats in Georgia. Yet, Trump made himself the victim, claimed electoral fraud, discredited mail in votes and made the Georgia races about him. He lost.

* Trump’s post election tirades and plots further buried his own popularity and effectiveness. He came across as a spoiled would be dictator unable and unwilling to accept the people’s’ vote. He filed 60+ lawsuits and lost. He even tried to incite armed insurrection. Even the Proud Boys couldn’t do it for him. He lost.

* Trump ignored the virus and did nothing as deaths mounted over 400k. He cost us lives. He then lost.

Guys, you backed a loser and must now pay the consequences. Biden has two years to make changes and further secure control of the House and Senate. Maybe he’ll succeed. Maybe not.

In either case, however, Trump led his backers to defeat. He lost. He is a loser. Why no venom for DJT?

Again, they won the presidency simply because Biden is not Trump, not because of his policies. What I would like to see is both sides compromising on issues and getting down to the business of fixing America, no matter who's in charge. Well, if I'm going to dream I might as well dream big, right?

Not attacking Raoul, just Biden's policies, which are going to hurt the poor and middle class at a time when they are hurting so bad already. Besides, Raoul and I have never attacked each other, we just disagree sometimes. :)

Not to mention how it destroys the scenic beauty of so many areas...

Reminds me of when wind power first came out. A number were put in the water off of the Cape Cod, Nantucket area. That stopped when the snooty liberal Kennedy types did not like that it ruined their view of the ocean.

In my area they are up 25 cents per gallon in January. Math tells me that is a 12.5% increase for regular unleaded in one Biden month.

Is it true that Warren Buffett controls the trains that will now transport this oil and is it also true that Buffett gave $58 million to Joe's campaign? If this were really about climate change then you would think that you would want the oil shipped by pipeline instead of dirty trucks and trains bringing that oil in. Increasing the carbon footprint from this seems to go against the goals of climate change.

Buffet's trains and trucks are solar powered . It real sunny in the Midwest this time of year. Especially at night.

That's just how insanely obtuse some of these people are. They think if Biden runs on something and wins, he is not going to do what he ran on. He is going to do what they want him to do....and when he doesn't they are outraged....lol

This is the problem. These are people who are led by someone who has never been truely accountable for anything in his entire life. Anyone out there that has never been accountable now have a leader. someone that proves you can be president even living your life this way.

More people will die from coronavirus than died in the civil war soon.

Biden is in charge now so any deaths will be on him. Do we start calling it JOEVID-19 now.

The Dems have always been against projects like this in recent years due to the fact that their platform is moving away from fossil fuels and towards clean energy, since that's where a vast majority of future jobs are.
Really because here is the vote during Obama

February 24, 2015 President Obama vetoed a bill that approved the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, saying that the decision of approval should rest with the Executive Branch. The Senate had passed it 62–36 on January 29, and the House approved it 270–152 on February 11.

That’s one guy who is mad the project got cancelled being concerned about something. There’s already plenty of existing pipeline infrastructure in place from Canada to the US.

See below.....

Additionally, there's very little evidence that the 15% of oil that comes in via rail right now is any less safe than oil pipelines. Oil safety is measured by incident and spill rates and both have a comparable record in terms of how often there's a spill.
Existing yet incomplete. Existing but some portions need modernization. Still coming on railway, ships, oil trucks. Either way it's coming just in a dirtier less safe less efficient manner.

pipeline and rail are comparable in their spill rates, so there’s no advantage for one over the other.

Time to move on to more sensible, long term solutions.

It figures you missed the mark on this comparison. It’s not just about spills, it’s about carbon footprint of those trains and trucks. Do your own research next time.

In a paper released this month, Clay quantified the air pollution and greenhouse gas cost of diesel emissions from oil trains going from North Dakota in 2014, when production was high and about half of Bakken oil was shipped by rail. She found that the air emission costs of CBR were twice the cost of oil train accidents. While accidents like the Lac Megantic tragedy generate massive attention and fear, they are relatively rare, whereas the emissions from oil trains impact scores of people who live in urban areas like Chicago and Clay’s home, Pittsburgh.

“The relative magnitudes are really different,” Clay said. “Certainly if a crude oil train blew up in Chicago, it could do billions worth of damage. Air pollution happens every day, it seems kind of invisible, people think it’s not that important, but it is important. It’s about the difference between actual risk and perception of risk — humans are very bad at assessing risk.”
