I get UNC is 4-4 but they have losses to a ranked App st, a ranked wake forrest, 5-2 va tech and 4th ranked Clemson in a hard fought game they had a chance to win. This is a team that won 3 games in 2017 and 2 games in 2018 & they are on the cusp of matching that in Mack Brown 1st yr plus still having the chance to win more and become bowl eligible. Mack is killing it in recruiting too. Unc has 3 of the top 5 and 4 of the top 10 players in north Carolina committed. They have the 11th rated player committed and are projected to land the #1 player in north Carolina giving them the top 3 and the 5th.
I think sombody posted that we passed on Butch Davis, Dan Mullen and Mario Cristobal to hire Al Golden, Mark Richt and Manny Diaz. Its no wonder we are where we are.
Looking at what butch did here and how he was an excellent recruiter and talent evaluator , the type of staff he would have put together...definitely has me envious of UNC and Mack.
Manny and Mack kind of remind me of when Randy coached Miami and kept getting schooled by his old coach Butch Davis at UNC. Guess history is repeating itself.
Speaking of history, the old adage goes " those who dont learn from history are doomed to repeat it ".
Miami hired 2 assistant coaches in Coker and Randy, said they were not going to do that again after 2 failed times but then did it a 3rd time. Guess they didnt learn from history and now are doomed to repeat it
