Went to the scrimmage and saw some things i wanted to share here on the board. Just My opinion
First thing I noticed was how undersize the team look. Gary wrote about this a few days back how he thought there should be size guidelines when recruiting and i saw what he meant. The team look smaller then i want my college team to look. I think the OlL & DL Line has nice size. Kayaa of course is QB size. I think the size issue is at the DB position, Linebacker position, and probably Wr position and RB.
What i also noticed was how improve this defense is. Yeah Yeah I Know guys but seriously this defense looks like they would be improved barring any injuries or suspensions. To what degree? Who knows but they will look better this season.
Tackling: More precisely the tackling has gotten a lot better. Not a lot of miss tackles very few. And them boys was coming up stickin'. No doubt about it we have a few hard hitters on this team. Starting with Deon of course, Dallas, Grace is a solid hitter, Muhummad of course.
DBS: The reason why Kayaa and the offense had such a hard time was because the D-line is improved at the same time the O-line took a step back. But also because the DBs were lock on there receivers or were in the right position when in zone. Really suprised about this group. I think they have chance of being a good group. The safeties are the truth and all have a nose for the ball with Jenkins coming back they will no doubt be the strength of this team.
Quan & Chad: LOOK like killers (physically). Big year for Quan im excited to have a guy like him on my team. Chad of course has the tools but you do want him to be more agressive. I truly believe it will happen by next season.
DL: More improved. Hard to gauge with how horrible the Oline is. But i think will be more improved.
All in All. When you read every player on defense saying they know the playbook in its entirity I truly believe that. Everyone looks like they know what they are doing out there. Jamaal: he's developing. Corn Elder: Very Solid Deon Bush looks good at CB when he played it.

Offense. Look horrible and it starts with the O-line. I started a tread a while back about this topic. I hope Kehoe can get this group together. We can have a great QB but without an O-Line we are in trouble. They Suck. and I am begging my good lord above that Kayaa doesn't go into a Soph slump. He just did not look good out there. He had one good drive. Malik: Athlete love the kid. This kid is a serviceable backup. I hope we do put packages in the game for him.
Really wanted to see Yearby all i kept talking about, "where the hell is Yearby?". I would love to see Gus more, but came here to War Room and learned he was banged up as well as Yearby situation. Nothing else to share about the offense. They didn't show anything. Hopefully Coley can get these boys straight.
Was expecting more fans. The stands were Dead, there was no ethusiam amongst fans like most scrimmages but this seemed as though every Fan were there to be convinced including myself and rightfully so. Sad thing about is we all look desperate.
