Frankly I’m done hearing that.
We were born as we were, we had ZERO choice. We could have been born a butterfly, rhino, starving orphaned Pakistani, deformed, crippled.
Luckily we were born into good families that taught us values, religion, hard work

My grandparents came over on a ship in the early 1900’s . Why you ask ? Because they were oppressed , their life sucked over there , so , they came over here . Legally , I might add . I have always been very proud of my heritage . This is where God wanted me , so , here I am . I won’t apologize for that . If I have offended anyone , I’m good with that 🙌🙌
And I bet your grandfolks immediately got a real job, learned the language and became productive citizens. What a concept!
Yes they did , my grandfather , joined the military & fought in WW 1 & my father was a military lifer , fought in WW 2 & Korea . All of us are proud of our country & glad my grandparents left Europe
My dad's parents were from Kiev, Ukraine. Russian Jews. My mom's parents were Italian Catholic. Grandmother from Naples, Italy and my grandfather Sicialian, from Noto. All 4 went thru Ellis Island.

My maternal grandfather came ALONE from Lebanon in 1911 thru Ellis Island. Evidence is almost non-existent but my paternal grandfather was a Cherokee from Muskogee, OK. His tribal origin was in NC.
My grandparents came from Latvia, Russian Jews. Grandpa escaped from Nazi Germany, came here thru Ellis island, and learned to speak English!
