going to become obsolete in the future. I , as many of you, have children in their teens...........I've noticed they don't really watch tv , but rather watch on their IPAD's, laptops , or phones. Pretty crazy in thoery, but guess that is what this generation knows. Crazy to me to even think that the TV could possibly become obsolete in time. Thoughts???

There will always be a desire for bigger and better screens. Just look at the evolution of HD over the last ten years
I hear you, but you can't deny that the present teen generation and even the 20's kids typically watch everything on hand held devices........us, old dudes. only watch on tv.........at some point, us old dudes will no longer be around..........think it is feasible that this could happen........tv's could end up with land lines, arcade games, stereo systems, typewriters, and worse of all , scratch n sniff stickers.............

I can see a time where even screens no longer exist, it will truly all be in the mind! lol, but I digress...yeah my kids never watch TV, it's all phones, iPads and PCs for them...only when we call the clan together for a movie night do they notice the tube.

It is what it is, time moves on and so does technology and habits.

speaking of digressing, I tell you what though, I wish Disney+ was around when the kids were toddlers, then I wouldn't have to store 2-3 bins of DVDs/Blu-Rays waiting around for the grandkids (who will probably watch Disney+ instead, lol)

I watch most everything on phone or my widescreen monitor in my office. Work on the small screen watch on the big. Rarely watch on the 60s, hell my girlies kid rather play on his iPad etc unless he’s playing 2k or ****ing bandwidth stealing Fortnite.

I'm in the towel and tissue business, it's already affecting the movie industry because of streaming services etc.. Longterm only theatres that offer other services like bars and restaurants will survive. Those usually have less seats but they are reclining and serve bring food to you as well. TV's will get better, cheaper and smarter and more interconnected with iPads and laptops.. I sit in bed and play movies on my Apple TV and Netflix on my 65" TV while also surfing the internet checking my email, and taking phone calls on my Mac Pro.

Not sure about the demise of Tv's but am amazed that you can get a 65 inch TV these days for a quarter of the price that we paid for a 27 inch giant box that threw your back out trying to lift it.
Maaaan, those Sony trinitrons were nothing to be messed with. Had a 30" that I ended up giving away to our handyman, best payment ever.

My TV is a 100inch 4k projector. The only problem is cheap ESPN broadcasts in 720p all the time

No worries, Cuz they will go far sighted at some point and need a bigger TV 😜

TVs will be around for another decade or two, but they will slowly get phased out in favor of mobile devices.

Kids that spend all day on their little screens love to go to Dad's man cave, 65in hi res screen, surround sound and comfy couch's to watch Netflix

Everybody born after 2000, lol ... I see it every day bro, crazy...but at least I know the living room is all mine!!
What until the kids are older , I think they will figure out that bigger is better
Especially for Movies and sports
The wifey watches her Streaming shows on her devices , can’t figure out the reason
I’m up do a 78 inch in the family room and a 65 inch in my small ( narrow) bedroom
I’ll go to 90 inches next as the technology improves and price goes down
