I spoke with Eric Winston last night. As you may remember, he was one of the best offensive lineman with the Canes and had a very successful pro career and eventually became the president of the NFLPA. He said that young linemen in the pros and at UM would have help with another blocker helping the young lineman by assisting on blocking pass protection particularly where they were playing against older and more experienced defensive lineman. So, the question is, why isn’t the U helping the younger linemen with help from running backs or the tight ends? Maybe sending out less receivers and keeping in additional blocking assistance on passing situations may make a difference. Just a thought.
